Get A Library Card

You may apply for a library card at the Checkout Desk of the Marshfield Public Library. (You can also begin the process by filling out this Online Library Card Application.) It is necessary to show a valid driver’s license, Wisconsin State ID, military or student ID as proof of identity to be eligible for a library card. Proof of current home address must also be provided. Address verification is required because funding is received for non-city resident use. Proof of current address includes any one of the following:

  • Proper Photo ID showing name and current address
  • Mailed bill/statement with a postmark or date no older than one month showing name and current address
  • Personal or payroll check showing name and current address
  • Current residential lease showing name and current address

A parent or legal guardian’s proof of identity and address may be used to establish their minor child’s identity and address. A parent or legal guardian must be present with the minor at the time a library card is issued. The parent or legal guardian is ultimately responsible for the materials checked out on a minor’s card as well as any overdue charges that may be incurred.
